Forehead Reduction in Newport Beach, Orange County

Newport Beach Forehead Reduction Patient 3

This woman in her early twenties came to Dr. Siamak Agha at Plastic Surgery Body Contouring Center for a forehead reduction , or hairline lowering surgery.  A forehead reduction is a surgical  procedure for patients with long forehead that wish to have it reduced.

The patient, on Examination by Dr. Agha, was found to have an 8.5 cm forehead length. For most femailes, the ideal forehead length is between 6.0 and 6.5 cm.

During the surgery, which took 2 ½ hours surgery, Dr. Agha placed an incision just in front of her hairline extendin all the way to the skull bone. Then all the layers of scalp are then elevated over the bone as far back as possible, ideally all the way towards the back of the neck. The scalp, through a series of parallel incisions is then internally released and this enables the scalp to move forward about 1 inch or so. The scalp is then advanced to the incision line allowing for over 1 inch of forehead skin to be excised. Finally the incision is closed in 3 layers.

Post-op photos were taken at 9 months after the patient's forehead reduction surgery.
